Uncreative Writing: What is it good for?

Today in class I hope to moderate a healthy debate about the merits and demerits of Goldsmith's book, or rather the ideas present(ed) in Goldsmith's book.  Start thinking about your positions (note the plural) now. We'll borrow a technique from the world of corporate consultancy and apply a SWOT analysis to Uncreative Writing. SWOT: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.

Perhaps the "truest" reading of UW is embedded in (or, rather, is itself) your hundred verbatim text grabs. Read these over a couple of times and let them sink into your consciousness.

If you are one of the lucky few reading this before class begins, please email me your "hundred grabs" if it's handy. If not, we'll do this in class.
