OULIPO
OULIPO PORTFOLIO
"Read" the following texts for this Thursday's class. A loose translation of Oulipo is "Workshop for Potential Literature. While mainly a French phenomenon of the middle decades of the 20th century, Oulipians are still attending meetings and writing new work. Harry Mathews is the only well-known American Oulipian.
1. Raymond Queneau, Cent Mille Milliards de
Poèmes (Hundred Thousand Billion Poems)
100,000,000,000,000 Poems (1961)
2. Monica De La Tour, Into the Maze
3. Drunken Boat, Oulipo Special Issue (2006)
Concentrate on the section titled "texts" on the lower left. There are too many texts to read them all. Be sure not to miss the work of Georges Perec.
