Change in Schedule

Consider the material we've explored over the past five weeks: fluxus, sound, Language Writing, visual poetry, conceptual poetry. What do you find interesting and compelling? Why? Focus on a limited number of examples. Make an argument that is truly arguable. Connect it to your own practices as an artist/designer/teacher/journalist/etc. To get you started, bring to class next week, March 10, a single typed paragraph that describes what you want to write about for this essay and why. Include other relevant material as you see fit. This will be a non-binding document; it's intention is to get your thinking started early, not the night before the essay is due.

The second short essay will be due at the start of class on March 24. Please upload your essay to the shared folder named "Second Short Essay". I'm still missing some of the "First Short Essays". If you don't see your paper in the folder, please upload it at your earliest convenience. Like the last essay, it should be around 5-7 typed double-spaced pages of argumentative prose. If you're going to include examples, these won't count toward your 5-7 pages. Cite sources appropriately and be sure to proofread before uploading.
